A good plastic injection molding company in China should be evaluated by verified DFM, tooling control, quality evidence, inspection, capacity, communication, and total-cost transparency. Country alone is not a quality claim; the supplier’s process and evidence must fit the product risk.

Screen technical capability
- Ask for a DFM review that covers parting, draft, gates, vents, cooling, ejection, tolerances, steel, and trial strategy.
- Confirm the actual mold shop, molding machines, material handling, inspection equipment, and production route that will be used.
- Define who owns CAD, mold steel, inserts, spare parts, maintenance records, and any approved design changes.
Verify quality and communication
- Request relevant certifications, calibration records, material certificates, first-article data, process records, and traceability examples.
- Agree on CTQs, sampling, cosmetic standards, packaging, nonconformance handling, and approval gates before production.
- Test whether engineering questions receive specific answers with drawings, assumptions, owners, and dates.
Compare total supplier risk
Normalize tooling, resin, molding, inspection, logistics, maintenance, correction, and change-control assumptions. A lower quote is not better if the supplier cannot explain lead time, capacity, mold access, or how a defect will be contained. Use a pilot or staged qualification when the part is safety-critical, regulated, or difficult to inspect.
